Business Controller 100% (m/f/d)

What is my role?

• You manage the annual budgeting process of the MFD Rail Group and prepare regular forecasts together with the business units.
• You analyse variances between planned and actual figures, calculate scenarios, and derive concrete insights for corporate management.
• You create and further develop the monthly performance reporting together with Operations and Sales. In doing so, you make revenue and cost developments as well as relevant key figures transparent.
• You prepare the monthly market intelligence reporting and classify relevant market, industry, and economic developments for our business.
• You support Operations and Sales as a business management sparring partner and assist decisions with ad-hoc analyses, profitability calculations, and business cases.
• You further develop our planning, controlling, and reporting processes and drive their automation forward.
• You design and optimise existing Power BI reports and dashboards and improve data preparation and data quality.
• You identify meaningful applications of AI and use it to make controlling work more efficient.

What do I need to be successful?

• You have a degree in business administration, finance, or controlling, or a comparable higher education.
• You bring several years of experience in controlling or a comparable business management function and have sound knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business analyses.
• You think analytically, conceptually, and entrepreneurially and understand operational and commercial business processes.
• You are proficient in Excel and independently build and develop planning and evaluation models.
• You have a strong IT affinity and are interested in digitalisation, automation, and AI in controlling. Ideally, you already have practical experience in creating and further developing reports and dashboards with Power BI or comparable BI tools.
• You work independently, structured, and proactively, take responsibility in a small and agile organisation, and communicate complex contexts clearly and understandably.
• You communicate confidently in German and English and enjoy working closely with the various business units.
