Tasks
Tasks: As a police officer, you are there for the people in Basel. You ensure safety, help, mediate and act when necessary. No day is like the other. A varied, two-year training prepares you for this.
Basic training 1st year: The first year is completed at the inter-cantonal police school in Hitzkirch (LU) and concludes with the preliminary exam of the federal professional examination (EBP-V).
Basic training 2nd year: You deepen your knowledge in the learning group and gain valuable practical experience. You take on responsibility and are accompanied by experienced colleagues. The final qualification is the professional examination with a federal professional certificate.
Perspectives: After training, many paths are open to you – e.g. service dog unit, traffic police or prevention. You develop in the direction that suits you. During the entire training, you are employed with full pay.
Profile
Experience: You have Swiss citizenship or a C residence permit as well as a valid driving licence. An impeccable reputation is a matter of course for you. You meet the requirements, including the physical prerequisites.
Personality: You approach people openly and respectfully, communicate clearly and enjoy working in a team. You are grounded, remain calm even in demanding situations and are resilient. Good manners complete your profile.
Education: You have completed a vocational apprenticeship (EFZ) or a higher school leaving certificate (Matura, FMS, WMS or similar) and feel confident using a PC. If there is a service obligation, basic military training or civilian service must be completed at the start of training.
Language: German is your mother tongue or you have negotiation-level proficiency in spoken and written German at least at level C1.
