As head of the Sports and WAH Department for Secondary Level I and II, you are responsible together with your team for the training of teachers in the two school subjects Sports (Secondary Level I and II) and WAH (Secondary Level I). As department head, you are responsible for the quality and further development of the modules in these two study areas and also contribute your professional expertise to the further development of the degree programmes at the Institute for Secondary Level I and II, especially in interdisciplinary areas such as health education and ESD (Education for Sustainable Development).
Your core tasks include:
- Personnel leadership and personnel management
- Conceptual development of the teaching offer in the Sports and WAH department
- Ensuring the quality of the teaching offer
- Conducting teaching events in a study subject assigned to the department
- Member of the institute management of the Institute for Secondary Level I and II: co-responsibility for the delivery and further development of the Secondary Level I and II degree programmes as well as the institute
Your Profile:
Your profile: You are a communicatively strong and team-oriented personality who moves confidently in both the higher education and school environments and enjoys taking on leadership tasks. As a distinguished personality with knowledge of the current challenges in the Swiss education system (including the compulsory school sector and higher education landscape), you strengthen the team and contribute to the profiling of the Institute for Secondary Level I and II. You demonstrate a high level of expertise and are well anchored in the relevant scientific community.
You also have:
- A completed university degree in a discipline assigned to the department, ideally with a doctorate
- Teaching diploma and target level reference Secondary Level I or II desired
- Subject didactic expertise in one of the study subjects Sports or WAH as well as in the (subject-related) professionalisation of teachers
- Several years of experience in school and higher education practice and in teacher continuing education for Secondary Levels I and II
- Leadership experience in the higher education sector as well as management skills
- Proof of higher education didactic qualification
