Job description
Assessors hold a part-time judicial office and have judicial decision-making powers ( Art. 4 JG ). They are summoned as needed by the relevant authority. Assessors receive meeting fees according to Art. 79a JR . Assessors are elected by the Grand Council upon recommendation of the Judicial Council. The Judicial Council advertises judicial offices for application to the Grand Council ( Art. 12 JG ).
Desired profile
- Training as a civil engineer
- Sufficient availability (meetings during the day)
- Voting rights in cantonal matters. Foreign nationals must hold a residence permit and have lived in the canton for at least five years. There must be no loss certificates against the person. They must not have been criminally convicted of acts incompatible with the judicial office.
- Proficiency in German with good knowledge of French
