Associate Psychologist in the Community Psychiatry Service

The Psy&Migrants Unit of the Community Psychiatry Service is seeking an associate psychologist to join its team under a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027, with a workload between 80% and 100%.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

The Community Psychiatry Service (PCO) of the Department of Psychiatry aims to facilitate the integration and maintenance in the community of people suffering from mental disorders. Particular attention is paid to relational, social, and environmental factors influencing mental health.

The therapeutic approach, centred on the recovery of the individuals followed, is multidisciplinary and relies on mobile, outpatient interventions and day hospital activities.

The Psy&Migrants Unit of the PCO is a mobile multidisciplinary team. Its objective is to improve the quality and accessibility of mental health care for precarious migrants by supporting primary care providers, through psychiatric follow-ups in complex situations related to the migration journey and/or severe precariousness, as well as through research and training.

The team consists of psychiatrists, psychologists, case manager nurses, social workers, and a sociolinguist. The organisation of care values consultations of patients or families jointly with various professional bodies involved. The aim is to promote prevention at the place of residence, to meet, diagnose, organise downstream care within the network or by the unit to ensure psychotherapeutic care that takes into account psychosocial and legal issues.

Mission

• You conduct psychiatric assessments, therapeutic consultations, and psychotherapies for patients from the asylum context, within the missions of the Psy&Migrants unit
• You appreciate working in a multidisciplinary team and network and work closely with socio-health network partners
• You provide clinical support in the form of advice and supervision to other units of the DP-CHUV and social teams of EVAM
• You handle administrative tasks related to your follow-ups and participate in monitoring the unit’s activities.
• You participate in teaching and research activities within the unit.

Profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in psychology and a psychotherapy qualification recognised by the Confederation (or are close to obtaining it)
• You have good experience in following migrant populations and solid knowledge in psychotraumatology
• You have experience in network work and good knowledge of the Vaud migration and social insurance network
• You are comfortable in an interprofessional team and with paired interventions
• You know how to structure, synthesise, and present information clearly, precisely, and appropriately to different interlocutors
• You are comfortable writing reports
• You are mobile and can regularly travel to other sectors to supervise or advise teams
• For non-French speakers, you have a French level A1 (certificate required).
