About the job
Your new role
As an operations mechanic, you are a central part of our mechanical maintenance at the waste incineration plant (KHK). You ensure high plant availability in 24/7 operation through independent analysis, troubleshooting and sustainable optimisation of faults. In addition to maintenance, inspection and repair work, you take responsibility for technical improvements. You work closely with operations and electrical maintenance and actively contribute to the continuous development of our plants. If suitable, there is the opportunity to develop further as deputy head of the mechanical department.
Your area of responsibility
- Independent fault diagnosis and rectification on the process plants.
- Execution and optimisation of maintenance tasks at the waste incineration plant and in the district heating centres.
- Technical documentation and continuous improvement of the plants.

Your department
The modern waste incineration plant (KHK), an operation of Entsorgung St.Gallen, is responsible for the utilisation of waste and energy recovery from it. The KHK is thus a central pillar of the "Energy Strategy 2050" of the City of St.Gallen. Approximately 80,000 tonnes of waste are thermally treated annually in continuous shift operation. Our plant corresponds to the latest state of technology and meets all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
