Bertrams is an independent, internationally oriented engineering company in chemical plant construction. At the headquarters in Muttenz near Basel as well as the subsidiaries in Beijing, Shanghai and Mumbai, a total of around 120 people work. Our many years of experience as well as the profound know-how in process engineering, design, international project management and procurement have made us the world market leader in the field of processing and recycling of caustic soda.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Project Manager (all genders) for international projects with a workplace at the headquarters in Muttenz/BL.

As a project manager in international plant construction, you lead the projects from basic design to acceptance and handover of the plant to the customer and are responsible for all technical and commercial matters. You are enthusiastic about the combination of technology and project management. You find it exciting to accompany a project from start to finish and to be the contact person for all concerns both internally and towards the customer.

Main tasks

• Clarifications with internal departments (design, process development, sales, control engineering, logistics, purchasing, etc.), suppliers (for technical detail clarification) and customers
• Responsibility for schedule and budget (throughout the entire project)
• Conducting internal and external status meetings
• Design and specification of instrumentation
• Creating specifications for technical equipment
• Accompanying construction and piping planning carried out by external partners
• Coordination of site activities at the head office with the site manager on site
• Occasional travel to our international customers (max. 10% of working time)

Your profile

• You are a graduate engineer (university of applied sciences/university) in process engineering or mechanical engineering (or have an equivalent qualification).
• You have several years of experience as a project manager in plant construction.
• You enjoy working in an international environment with different cultures.
• You can express yourself fluently in English (written/spoken).
• You like to carry out technical elaborations yourself and can also handle routine tasks.
• You like to make decisions and can appropriately represent and enforce them.
