Chief Resident (Deputy) for the Service of Psychiatry of Advanced Age
The University Service of Psychiatry of Advanced Age (SUPAA) is opening a chief resident (deputy) position with an activity rate between 80% and 100% from 01.11.2026.

Context
The University Hospital Centre of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
SUPAA is a specialised service whose mission is to guarantee care, teaching and research in the field of psychiatry of the elderly. It has thus developed specialised hospital and outpatient structures in which you will have the opportunity to train.
SUPAA also offers pioneering treatments in trans-age interventional psychiatry (electroconvulsive therapy, rTMS, ketamine, specialised consultation for psychedelic-assisted therapy.)
Mission
- You ensure the care of the patients entrusted to you
- You conduct psychotherapies and supervisions
- You are the medical head of one or two assigned units (general consultation, liaison consultation, mobile team, hospital unit)
- You supervise the work of assistant doctors and oversee interns and students
- You ensure the transmission of information and coordination of involved third parties (relatives, therapeutic representative, external network, etc.)
- You participate in the medical training of the service; basic courses, journal club, clinical case presentations, support for block course interns, etc.
- You benefit, if you wish, from the opportunity to participate in research activities within the service and/or to lead a research project.
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist diploma in psychiatry and psychotherapy or equivalent (foreign title recognised by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions MEBEKO)
- You hold an FMH diploma in psychiatry and psychotherapy of the elderly or equivalent or are willing to undertake the training
- You have a good command of French (French level B2 certified for non-French speakers)
- You have a taste for network work, management skills, a sense of commitment and responsibility, as well as communication skills.
