Schöllenen Gorge closed uphill for cyclists from the end of April 2014
The road through the Schöllenen Gorge (access to the Gotthard Pass, Furka Pass and
Oberalp Pass) will be renovated in stages from 2014 to 2018. At the same time, a new cycle path separated from the road will be built through the Schöllenen.
During the construction period from the end of April 2014 to mid-November 2014, the Schöllenen road between Göschenen and Andermatt will be closed to uphill cyclists. From 5 July to 17 August, the road will be open over the weekends. Downhill from Andermatt to Göschenen, the road will always be passable for cyclists.
During peak times, ASTRA offers an additional loading service for cyclists alongside the existing loading service of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway. The ASTRA cycle loading point is signposted from the roundabout in Göschenen. More information at: www.schöllenen.ch/verkehr/oev-und-langsamverkehr
