The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
A position for an 80% sociocultural animator is open within the TSHM Meyrin - Transit team.
Job Description
- Ensure socioprofessional integration work within the Transit system with young people who have dropped out of school and/or are seeking qualifying training through various means such as jobs and educational projects;
- Participate in the follow-ups, support, and evaluations of young people in connection with the network;
- Support the acquisition of professional skills using existing measures and tools;
- Participate in the implementation of Transit actions such as street work, sports, managed premises, events, etc.
- Based on observed social issues, and within a team of 7 people, participate in the development of collective work and sociocultural animation in close collaboration with social workers in the region, existing social structures, and municipal authorities;
- Assume management and organizational tasks related to activities and objectives set by FASe and the municipality.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university degree;
- Proven experience in socioprofessional integration (jobs and educational projects), initial training in a technical field is an asset;
- Experience in outreach social work (street work, individual and group support, managed premises, sports for all, etc.);
- Knowledge of the characteristics of the young population, strong interest and demonstrated abilities to work with adolescents/young adults;
- Good knowledge and practice in project methodology and situation diagnosis; good ability to interpret complex situations;
- Good knowledge of the Geneva school network, particularly training courses, socioprofessional integration systems, and social assistance;
- Skills for network work: collaboration with social actors of the municipality and canton and proximity institutions; good knowledge of the Geneva social network;
- Ability to work autonomously while actively collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, its manager, and the regional coordinator, in coherence and respect with other social workers in the region and the Institution’s requests;
- Initiative, creativity, sense of responsibility, flexibility, dynamism;
- Good experience in organization and planning, managing priorities and emergencies;
- Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor, and respect deadlines.

- Salary according to the Geneva State salary scale: maximum class 15.
