Living with mental health challenges can be demanding – both for the affected person and their environment. That is why the Interest Group for Social Psychiatry Zurich (IGSP) exists. It was founded over 50 years ago out of the need to offer people accompanied and supported living options.
Our goal: People with mental health challenges lead as independent a life as possible and can participate in society. Three points are central: We treat each other with respect and on equal footing. We work goal-oriented with the resources the client brings. And we see the individual person as a whole.
The residential groups in the Mattenhof settlement offer their residents an almost village-like feeling. They provide a suitable framework to strengthen one’s own independence. Those who live here bring a high level of social competence and personal responsibility. The two-person residential groups are separated by gender.
