About the job
Senior Control Engineer: Emergency Power Systems (100% workload)
At AKSA Würenlos AG, we develop and implement highly available emergency power solutions – customised, technically sophisticated, and business-critical for our customers.
We are not looking for a conventional control technician. We seek a personality who understands complex emergency power systems as a whole, and who can get them running in a structured and stable manner.
If you don’t just want to programme, but want to recognise connections, understand causes, and take responsibility, you are right with us.
Your Tasks
Electrical Design
- Conceptualisation and creation of complex circuit diagrams (eXs-CAD)
Automation Planning
- Technical overall responsibility for control solutions in projects in the field of energy and emergency power systems
- Engineering and implementation of sophisticated control concepts as well as definition of technical standards
- Integration of emergency power systems into higher-level systems (PLC, control systems, building automation)
Control Systems
- Parameterisation and commissioning of generator controls (e.g. ComAp, Cummins PCC) as well as higher-level automation systems
- Implementation and optimisation of standby power, synchronisation, and load management functions
System Tests and Commissioning
- Execution and management of FAT, SAT and commissioning at the factory and on site with the customer
- Analysis of complex faults and derivation of sustainable solutions
Documentation and Standards
- Ensuring clean, structured, and comprehensible documentation
- Active development and standardisation of control concepts, engineering processes, and documentation
Team and Collaboration
- Professional support and coaching of junior control engineers in daily project work
- Support in quality assurance within the team
- Technical contact person for project managers, customers, and internal/external project participants
Your Profile
- Completed training in electrical engineering, automation, or comparable field
- Preferably further education at HF/FH level (e.g. electrical engineering, energy technology, systems engineering or similar)
- Several years of experience in control engineering in an industrial environment
- Solid experience in commissioning and handling complex systems
- Experience with PLC systems and automation solutions
- Advantageous: experience with generator controls such as ComAp, Cummins PCC or comparable systems
- Knowledge in the integration of systems and plants
- Experience in schematic engineering (preferably eXs)
- Good knowledge of power grids, network types and network behaviour as well as their influence on emergency power, synchronisation and island operation
- Solution-oriented and independent working style
- Assertiveness and quality awareness
- Very good German skills, solid English skills, French advantageous
- Driving licence category B
- Willingness to travel approx. 40% including on-call duty
What Distinguishes You
- Systemic Thinking – You recognise connections where others only see components
- Technical Responsibility – You ensure that the system works
- Analytical Strength – You find causes, not just symptoms
- Hands-on & Pragmatic – You tackle tasks, think along and find a solution that works
- Structure and Clarity – You keep an overview even with complex tasks
- Implementation Strength – You see things through to the end
Is That You?
You are not the type to simply programme what is on the plan. You understand why a system is built the way it is – and ensure it works reliably under real conditions. With us, you work on solutions where it really matters that they run.
What Awaits You With Us
