Clinical nurse specialist in traumatology
The Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Department of the Musculoskeletal System Department is seeking a clinical nurse specialist between 80% and 100% from 1 September 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Musculoskeletal System Department (DAL) brings together the Rheumatology, Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, Plastic and Hand Surgery Services, the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Bone Diseases Centre as well as a Sports Centre. It manages pathologies related to the skeleton, tendons and joints, whether accidental or degenerative in origin.
The Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Service specialises in the management of traumatic and degenerative conditions of the adult musculoskeletal system, particularly at the shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles and feet. Its activity is mainly surgical in nature.
Mission
As a clinical nurse specialist within the Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Service, you will:
- Ensure an expert role in nursing care and practice based on the use of evidence
- Support interprofessional collaboration to promote continuous improvement of clinical quality
- Develop a consultation, coaching and guidance offer aimed at optimising the clinical skills of the team
- Implement disease and accident prevention actions, as well as health promotion and maintenance
- Actively participate in the dissemination and implementation of new knowledge in clinical practice and develop clinical and academic links.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Master of Science in nursing sciences
- You have at least 4 years of confirmed clinical experience in the field of practice
- You have a perfect command of French, both spoken and written, and are able to read and understand scientific literature in English
- You are comfortable using office and institutional IT tools (Windows environment)
- You master the patient record as well as aspects related to documentation and prescriptions.
Depending on your profile, the salary scale will be between level 10 and 11.
