The Zurich Animal Protection is an independent, non-profit association that has been committed to domestic, farm, wild, fur, and laboratory animals since 1856.
We are looking for a responsible person for the cat area at our animal shelter, starting immediately or by arrangement, 80–100%.

Your Tasks
- Professional responsibility for the cat area of our animal shelter
- Ensuring species-appropriate care of all cats
- Planning, implementation, and monitoring of feeding, enrichment, and socialisation measures
- Monitoring and documentation of health progress, medication, and veterinary instructions
- Professional support and guidance of staff in the cat area
- Setting adoption criteria and supporting the office team with complex placement decisions
- Ensuring smooth information flow between animal care, office, and shelter management
- Coordinating the occupancy of cat and boarding rooms
- Organising care, maintenance, and further development of the cat area
Your Profile
- Completed training as an animal caretaker EFZ
- Several years of experience in the care and keeping of cats
- High sense of responsibility and strong understanding of animal welfare
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
- Enjoyment in professionally supporting colleagues
- Good organisational skills and resilience
- Confident use of digital work tools and documentation systems
- Very good German language skills, spoken and written
