The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.

Housed at the World Economic Forum, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, the Global Shapers Community and the Forum of Young Global Leaders are collectively referred to as the “Foundations”. Each with its own unique model, the Foundations support and advance the work of global changemakers, young leaders, and social innovators around the world.

The Foundations bring together a diverse and committed group of change leaders, spanning more than 150 countries, to address the most pressing challenges of our time. To amplify their impact and attract new supporters, we are seeking a Specialist to support our communications and partnership outreach.

Reporting lines and interactions

The Specialist, based in Geneva, will report to the Impact Communications Manager. The Specialist will work closely with colleagues across the three Foundations, the Head of the Foundations, and the World Economic Forum’s Public Engagement team.

Main Responsibilities

Communications


  • Contribute to storytelling and communications strategies for the Foundations

  • Craft messages that resonate with target audiences, increasing brand awareness and visibility and driving engagement across multiple channels

  • Create and distribute engaging content, including but not limited to newsletters, web page and blog content, social media posts, videos, and other digital media

  • Develop content to grow the Foundations’ social media presence

  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communications efforts, including tracking metrics and analytics

  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure content is delivered in a timely and organized manner

  • Support the Head of the Foundations on external speaking engagements, including briefings and promotion

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of summits and major events, including the Schwab Foundation Social Innovator of the Year Awards

  • Liaise with the Public Engagement team to position Foundation content on Forum platforms

Partnerships


  • Create content to showcase partners and the impact of their support

  • Create marketing materials to support fundraising efforts

  • Support key partnership announcements, launches, and event participation

  • Collect and draft impact stories that align with fundraising priorities

  • Conduct research on potential partners and write summary reports

  • A proactive approach to developing new strategies and products to support communications and partnerships

  • Project coordination and adherence to timelines and guidelines

  • Professional manner when interacting with colleagues

Preferred Requirements and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline

  • Five years of professional work experience in implementing communication strategies; social innovation, social enterprise, NGO or international development experience a plus

  • Experience or knowledge of partnership development and fundraising

  • Perfect command of verbal and written English; excellent writing skills

  • Significant experience with social media platforms and tools, including data analysis

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) and other communications software and tools
