Foreman/Forewoman Basketry 80 - 100%With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed institution for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and about 300 employees, it contributes according to legal mandate to the protection of the public and at the same time creates the conditions for the resocialisation of the incarcerated persons.
We are looking for a resilient personality with very high social competence from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement.
Together with your experienced professional colleagues, you will care for and promote the incarcerated persons in the basketry and weaving workshop.
Your tasks
- Professional guidance, care and promotion of a group of incarcerated persons in their daily work activities
- Responsibility for order and safety as well as co-designing a structured working day
- Planning and coordination of individual work assignments taking into account the skills and resources of the incarcerated persons
- Writing reports and assessments on the development and behaviour of the incarcerated persons
- Commitment as an active member of the company fire brigade
Your profile
- A basic craft training (EFZ), for example as a carpenter, woodworker, saddler or upholsterer
- Professional experience in a craft environment as well as interest in work-related educational work with people
- Team-oriented, flexible and resilient personality with a positive and appreciative attitude
- Further training as a correctional services specialist; additional training in work pedagogy is an advantage
- Good German skills in spoken and written form as well as secure MS Office skills; further language skills are a plus
- Minimum age 30 years as well as an impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal and debt registers)
