Relief Worker: Medical Service (MPA, FaGe or Certified Nursing Professional) 40 - 100%The Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Medical Service is one of eight main departments of JuWe and, as a central organisation, is responsible for the medical-somatic basic care of all incarcerated persons in the institutions of the Canton of Zurich. With around 90 employees, it ensures medical care from initial assessment through treatments to emergency care and supports incarcerated persons in their daily health-related questions.
To strengthen our Medical Service, we are looking for flexible individuals as relief workers with a fixed workload and working days – for assignments in various prisons in the Canton of Zurich.
This is your area of responsibility
- You work as an MPA, FaGe or certified nurse in the various facilities.
- You take on assignments during holiday cover, longer absences, and to support during bottlenecks and high workloads, including administrative tasks such as service recording
- You are willing to change the workplace at short notice and bring the necessary flexibility for changing deployment locations
- You work closely with various professional groups in the prison and quickly adapt to new work environments
- Depending on your professional profile, you take on medical, nursing or administrative tasks and contribute to a smooth working day
What you bring with you
- You are a certified nursing professional HF/DN II, health specialist EFZ or Medical Practice Assistant EFZ
- You work independently, responsibly and appreciate a varied working day
- You quickly find your way in new work environments and meet different people and situations with openness
- You are flexible and willing to be deployed at various locations in the Canton of Zurich
- A category B driving licence and your own vehicle are advantageous
- In addition to very good German skills, further language skills are an advantage
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable reputation
