Burckhardt of Switzerland AG is a globally active company specialising in the manufacture of mechanical as well as needled and drilled precision parts. In addition, special and customised machines for the plastics, textile and machinery industries are also produced.
Our products are manufactured using CNC turning and milling machines and drilling machines, as well as by means of conventional turning and assembly work. Various application possibilities of our products can be tested in our laboratory.
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are looking for a
Polymechanic in the role of a trainee
Department Manager
from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement
Your main tasks:
- Conventional turning
- Assistance in all areas of final assembly
- Active participation in continuous process optimisation
- After familiarisation:
- Leading the final assembly department with around 7 employees
- Managing the laboratory
You bring with you:
- Completed vocational training in a metal profession (polymechanic, mechanic, industrial mechanic)
- Several years of professional experience in various areas of mechanics
- Leadership experience and knowledge in constructive collaboration, appropriate communication, active listening, understanding of self-reflection, reliability, independence
- Basic knowledge of CNC technology
- Experience in conventional turning and mechanical assembly work
- Good manual skills
- Native German speaker
- English language skills
