At Space Eye, we make science tangible. As a modern observatory and experience centre in the Bern region, we inspire people of all ages with astronomy, environment, and innovation, featuring an 8K planetarium, the largest publicly accessible telescope in Switzerland, as well as diverse educational and experiential offerings. For conducting group visits in German and French and coordinating our events, we are looking for a committed and versatile individual with great enthusiasm for astronomy starting January 2027 or by arrangement.

Space Eye Guide and Event Manager (50-60%)

As a Space Eye Guide, you will independently or together with other guides lead groups through Space Eye. You convey knowledge about the universe and our environment and make the topics in the exhibition, at the telescope, and in the planetarium tangible for our guests.

As an Event Manager, you take responsibility for the preparation and execution of events. You coordinate the on-site processes, keep an overview even in hectic situations, and ensure that our guests feel well cared for. This also includes minor catering and service tasks.

• A training or degree in astronomy is not mandatory. Much more important is your personal enthusiasm and fascination for the universe. Astronomical prior knowledge is an advantage.
• You enjoy conveying astronomical and scientific content clearly and enthusiastically to different age groups.
• You are interested in technical systems and software and enjoy familiarising yourself with new systems.
• You communicate confidently in German and French.
• Willingness to work irregular shifts on weekends, evenings, or public holidays. Winter is the main season of the Space Eye Observatory.
• Driving licence category B, own vehicle advantageous.
