About the job

The Berner Wanderwege association promotes hiking and hiking tourism in the canton of Bern.
We understand hiking as a health-promoting, recreational and movement-oriented
experience of nature, landscape and culture. To this end, we maintain a network of hiking trails of around
10,000 km in length. Our main tasks include the planning and signposting of the hiking route network as well as services for our members and the public.
Due to the retirement of the current postholder, we are looking for a

District Manager Bern East – Bernese Oberland 100 %

Your tasks
You are responsible for the planning, signposting and professional supervision of the hiking route network
in the central and eastern Bernese Oberland. You check and revise the route network,
coordinate the signposting and assess planning and construction projects.
You work closely with our volunteer district managers and our renovation team.
In addition, you are the contact person for cantonal authorities, municipalities, tourism organisations
and other partners in connection with hiking and the hiking trail network.

Your profile
You have training in a technical, craft or nature-related field
and bring commercial knowledge, technical understanding and manual skills.
You work independently and responsibly, have good presentation skills
and enjoy working with people.
You have good IT user skills and are willing to familiarise yourself with the specialist applications for slow traffic and other applications required for the activity.
Very good German language skills, both spoken and written, are a prerequisite.
You enjoy being outdoors and feel comfortable in the mountain area. To perform the job,
you need a category B driving licence and your own vehicle.
Ideally, you live in the central or eastern Bernese Oberland.
