This position is ideal for a personality who enjoys taking responsibility, staying close to employees and customers, and keeping a cool head even when the daily schedule no longer fits the actual daily business at short notice.
Your Tasks
- Overall responsibility for the operational organisation and control of transport logistics
- Leading a small team in scheduling as well as a larger number of drivers
- Planning and coordinating an extensive own commercial vehicle fleet as well as the demand-based use of external transport capacities
- Ensuring efficient and customer-oriented scheduling
- Coordinating a wide variety of transport orders in regional and supra-regional local transport
- Actively supporting scheduling during bottlenecks, absences and challenging situations
- Leadership, support and deployment planning of drivers
- Organisation of holidays, absences, replacements and special assignments
- Coordination of vehicle availability, repairs, maintenance and MOT appointments
- Ensuring compliance with legal working, driving and rest times
- Responsibility for the economical use of personnel, vehicles and external transport partners
- Direct contact with internal and external customers as well as pragmatic resolution of customer concerns
- Rapid organisation of solutions in case of vehicle breakdowns, staff shortages, accidents or short-term changes
- Active development of processes and procedures in transport and scheduling
Your Profile
- Several years of experience in transport logistics with scheduling
- Sound knowledge of road transport and its operational challenges
- Leadership experience in transport, logistics or a comparable environment
- Experience in deployment planning of drivers and commercial vehicles
- Good knowledge of relevant legal regulations, especially ARV as well as working, driving and rest times
- Technical understanding of commercial vehicles and enjoyment of a diverse vehicle fleet
- Entrepreneurial thinking and strong cost awareness
- High service and customer orientation
- Decisiveness and the ability to find pragmatic solutions even under time pressure
- Down-to-earth, clear and appreciative leadership personality
- High flexibility and willingness to be reachable outside classic office hours for operationally important events
- Residence at a reasonable distance from the workplace or willingness to choose accordingly
