Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
Serving the families of the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva. It has more than 500 places for minors and young adults, and also offers outpatient educational services at home. The FOJ currently employs 670 staff dedicated to serving young people and their families.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for a qualified educator for the Aubépine Home , which accommodates, day and night, four young people aged 12 to 18 with significant psychiatric issues, and provides care follow-up through adapted therapeutic and educational services.
Job Description
- Provide educational support and assistance within a multidisciplinary team, working with adolescents aged 12 to 18 living in the home
- Prepare young people for autonomy by supporting them in daily learning, gradual assumption of responsibilities and integration
- Be open to the pedagogy of developmental bonding and establish an educational relationship based on trust, emotional regulation and valuing each young person’s potential
- Work closely with placing services and families
- Actively participate in team meetings, network meetings and supervisions.
Job Specifics
- Irregular working hours (including nights and weekends).
Start date: 1 September 2026
Work rate: 80%
Contract type: Permanent contract
Grade: 13 or 15 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva

Qualifications
- Bachelor in social work (HETS) or Diploma of social educator (ES) or University bachelor (related field to social work) with one year of full-time professional practice in residential care or IGE
- Foreign diplomas: requirement of official recognition by SEFRI (or an equivalent recognised body)
- Minimum 5 years confirmed experience in a similar position with adolescents with special educational needs
- Strong interest and motivation to work with young people presenting severe mental disorders
- Excellent crisis management skills and ability to intervene appropriately in complex situations
- Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team while maintaining the specificities and role of the function
- Very good knowledge of the Swiss and Geneva socio-educational, pedagogical and therapeutic network
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly
- Autonomy, sense of responsibility and initiative, combined with a strong team spirit
- Perfect command of French, both spoken and written.

Possession of a driving licence (cat. B)
