The Office for National Road Operations ensures, on behalf of the Federal Roads Office (ASTRA), the operational and structural maintenance on the A2 from Airolo to Beckenried, on the A4 from Flüelen to Küssnacht, as well as on the Gotthard Pass road.
Due to the promotion of the current position holder, we are looking for a new Head of Department for the Department of Operations and Safety Equipment in the Mechanics division at the Flüelen location.

Tasks
- Administrative and professional leadership of the Mechanics division as well as personnel management of 11 employees at two locations
- Organization, execution, and control of maintenance and repair of the BSA
- Co-responsibility in projects and in the implementation of new systems
- Planning and execution of fan overhauls within the regional unit as well as for third parties
- Ensuring annual and multi-year planning as well as optimal resource deployment in the Mechanics division
- Preparation of budget and investment proposals as well as responsibility for budget and cost control
- Quality inspection and control of services according to the activity directory
- Participation in reports for the canton, ASTRA, departments, or third parties
- Implementation and review of occupational safety regulations in the division
Expectations
- Certified maintenance manager, production technician HF, or comparable technical education
- Leadership experience with appropriate further training, ideally in the road sector or similarly structured companies
- Solid experience in the maintenance of electromechanical systems
- Good knowledge of measurement, control, and regulation technology
- Confident handling of modern IT applications, e.g., ERP systems, mobile data collection, resource planning, MS Office
- Communicative, solution-oriented, and decisive personality with high leadership and social competence
- Networked thinking as well as the ability to collaborate constructively with different stakeholders
- Willingness to occasionally work at night
- Italian and English skills are an advantage
