Head of Legal & Compliance GLB Insurance (m/f/d)

What to expect

In this role, you lead the Legal & Compliance department and are responsible for the legal service function for the Executive Board area Insurance (Non-Life) for overarching topics outside of claims settlement.

What you will achieve with us

As head of the Legal & Compliance department, you are responsible for the professional and personnel management of six employees. Together with them, you strive for a cooperative, customer-oriented and solution-focused leadership culture.

Your tasks include the strategic development of the department. You are responsible for various areas such as insurance law, property insurance law, building insurance law, supervisory law, data protection law and compliance. Additionally, you support initiatives in the Non-Life sector and implement new legal frameworks and regulatory requirements. In doing so, you actively shape the digital advancement of legal and compliance work and utilise the possibilities of AI and new technologies to effectively further develop processes, advice and knowledge management.

 
As a decentralised compliance function, you represent the Executive Board area Insurance in the relevant committees. You advise the line management on all legal matters concerning products and new offerings and participate in projects.

What you bring with you

• Completed law degree, possibly supplemented with a lawyer's licence
• Proven professional experience in the legal field within the insurance industry, especially in the Non-Life business
• Leadership experience as well as project management experience are advantageous
• High digital affinity and understanding of the potentials, risks and practical use of AI and new technologies; experience with legal-tech, data or automation solutions is beneficial
• Customer-oriented, strong negotiating personality with a pronounced flair for collaboration with diverse stakeholders
• Open, communicative and practical working style
• Very good German skills in spoken and written form, good French and possibly Italian skills
