The canton of Nidwalden is a sovereign canton with around 44,000 inhabitants. The conciliation authority, the public prosecutor's office, the child and adult protection authority, as well as the courts—the Superior Court, the Administrative Court, and the Cantonal Court—are committed to the administration of justice. Their concern in the service of those seeking justice is the protection and enforcement of rights as well as the prevention and sanctioning of wrongdoing.Responsibilities
- Assessing cases from civil and criminal law as a single judge or as chairperson in the collegiate court
- Activity at the coercive measures court and ensuring on-call duty on weekends and public holidays together with the other presidencies
- Responsible for case management
- Drafting presentations for judgment consultations and delivering judgments either as a single judge or as chairperson
Your profile
- Completed law degree and ideally a practising certificate
- Many years of professional experience in the administration of justice as well as sound knowledge of substantive and procedural law, especially in civil and criminal law
- Integrity, trustworthy personality with decisiveness and commitment
- Self-critical and independent person who works efficiently, promptly, and accurately even under pressure
