A position is available in the Brain Tumor Immunotherapy and Biology Lab at the Department of Biomedicine (DBM) in Basel, Switzerland.
The successful candidate will work on developing cellular therapies against glioblastoma and brain metastasis. The project focus is on the genetic modification of T cells and macrophages with next-generation armored CARs.

Your position
- Design, develop, and test next-generation armored CAR (Chimeric Antigen Receptor) constructs.
- Perform genetic modification of primary human immune cells (T cells and macrophages).
- Conduct in vitro validations using advanced models, including patient-derived organoids and co-culture systems.
- Perform in vivo validations in mouse models of glioblastoma and brain metastasis to assess therapeutic efficacy and safety.
- Utilize multidimensional flow cytometry and single-cell technologies to conduct deep immunophenotyping and analyze mechanisms of action.
Your profile
- A strong background in immuno-oncology, cellular therapy, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Prerequisite: A valid LTK1 certification (or similar/equivalent) for conducting in vivo experiments in mouse models.
- Expertise in the genetic modification of immune cells (e.g., viral vectors, CRISPR) is highly desirable.
- Experience with in vitro models (e.g., patient-derived organoids, co-culture) is a strong asset.
- Experience with multidimensional flow cytometry and/or single-cell technologies is a significant plus.
- The candidate should demonstrate ability to think critically and a strong aptitude for interpreting/analyzing complex data.
- We are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills, creative, highly motivated, and fluent in English with strong written and oral communication skills.
