Caritas Central Switzerland is a non-profit organization committed to the social focal points of poverty, work, and participation in the region. We have existed since 1982 – but we are not old-fashioned at all. On the contrary: we are in the process of further developing ourselves with a lot of drive.
This also applies to the «Second Chance» in Emmenbrücke. Our Secondhand & Brocki makes a strong statement in the field of ecological and social sustainability thanks to the goods cycle, work integration, and upcycling. And this is exactly where we need you, as a work-pedagogical reinforcement in the area of

Who are we looking for? A person who stands behind the mission of Second Chance: We give items a second life. We sell donated clothes, furniture, bikes, toys, and household items at low prices, but more exclusive vintage items also find their place on the shelves. With the proceeds, we finance our social Caritas projects. So you bring a lot of passion for sales, are enthusiastic about secondhand, have a good flair for product presentation, and enjoy interacting with customers.
In addition to sales, you take care of our upcycling workshop every Wednesday, on this day you work fixed hours. The workshop is a place full of ideas, craftsmanship, and new perspectives. Here, repairs, mending, and redesigning take place – and discarded materials are transformed into new favorite pieces. Here you bring creativity, craftsmanship skills, textile knowledge, and advanced sewing skills.
You do all this not alone, but in a team. This consists on the one hand of permanently employed colleagues as well as people who work with us as part of a work integration program. So both in sales and in the workshop, you deal with people affected by unemployment. Our programs aim to build a bridge to the regular labor market. In sales as well as in the workshop, you are therefore also active in work pedagogy. If you already have experience in this area, all the better. If not, we offer you appropriate support.
