Currently, we are offering a trainee position (m/f/d) in our NCE-CDMO Technical Evaluation & Development Team in Visp, Switzerland.
What we are looking for are motivated and talented junior chemists (m/f/d) with a bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, preferably with a focus on organic chemistry, who want to gain initial insights into the chemical industry alongside their university studies.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Assisting and supporting laboratory technicians / laboratory scientists in chemical synthesis in planning and conducting chemical syntheses, analysis, and characterization of products (e.g., using NMR, HPLC, GC, IR)
- Contributing to the process development of current projects within the working group.
- Conducting practical synthetic laboratory work as part of a clearly defined own sub-project within a larger team.
- Researching synthesis routes and conducting literature research to identify new scientific trends and product potentials.
- Presenting work results to relevant stakeholders and project teams.
- Providing technical support to the marketing and business development teams through contributions to white papers, presentations, and other technical materials.
Qualifications and experience
- Completed bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry, ideally with a focus on organic chemistry
- Enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary and diverse teams
- Structured working style and pronounced problem-solving skills
- Experience in researching scientific literature and writing scientific texts
- Good IT skills are an advantage
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
