Employee Security Center 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 women and men with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The main department Pre-Trial Detention Centers Zurich (UGZ) - one of seven main departments of JuWe - currently operates seven prisons for pre-trial and security detention. One of these facilities is the Winterthur Prison (GFW), which manages its tasks with a staff of around 49 employees and offers space for 92 detainees and 9 places for provisional arrest.
For the security center of the GFW, we are looking for a physically resilient and committed individual to start immediately or by agreement. The position is limited until December 31, 2026.
Your tasks
- Monitoring and operation of technical security systems (video surveillance, alarm and access systems)
- Receiving and processing alarm and fault messages as well as initiating necessary measures
- Supporting and coordinating external emergency forces during security-relevant events
- Ensuring compliance with security, alarm, and emergency procedures
- Complete documentation of events, reports, and special incidents
- Performing administrative tasks related to the operation of the security center
Your profile
- Completed vocational training, preferably in the security sector, technical environment, or a comparable function; experience in correctional services is an advantage
- High attentiveness as well as pronounced sense of responsibility and security awareness
- Mental resilience and the ability to act calmly and thoughtfully even in demanding situations
- Good IT user skills and technical understanding
- Fluent German skills in spoken and written form; additional language skills are an advantage
- Willingness to work shifts, nights, and weekends
- Team-oriented, reliable, and discreet personality
- Attitude and view of humanity as well as willingness to shape a development-oriented pre-trial detention
