Lead Train Driver Bellinzona 80-100% (m/f/d)

Main duties

• Manage and support a team of about 20 train drivers at the Arbedo site
• Provide technical support to external staff and ensure the correct execution of operational activities at stations and railway facilities
• Support employees in acquiring and developing the necessary knowledge and qualifications and in achieving the required objectives
• Conduct regular interviews and, when necessary, targeted discussions with employees; perform control runs
• Certify the suitability of train drivers for their respective employment profiles
• Keep staff competencies updated in the competency management system

Secondary duties

• Contribute to staff training, practical instructions, and checks, including railway operational safety
• Select new train drivers and manage their integration in collaboration with Human Resources
• Participate in drafting operational regulations and training materials
• Manage interventions during on-call service

Requirements

• Category B train driver with authorisation to operate in Switzerland and Italy and several years of experience in the railway sector
• Proven experience in personnel management and coordination
• Inclination to train employees and be their point of reference
• Willingness to take on responsibilities and new tasks
• Operational and decision-making autonomy, structured approach, and strong organisational skills
• Teamwork attitude with other sector managers
• Native Italian speaker or equivalent knowledge (minimum level C1)
• Good written and spoken German (minimum level B1) or willingness to learn it
