The Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR) has the societal mission to provide access to quality care for all through local medicine, to ensure the management of minor medical and surgical emergencies, to promote prevention among citizens, to provide medical knowledge for judicial investigations, and to promote the health of travellers.
The Penitentiary Medicine Service offers quality care to detainees in the prisons of the Republic and Canton of Geneva while applying medical law and professional ethics rules. It develops prevention and health promotion actions in the prison environment.
You will join an outpatient penitentiary unit (category A according to ISFM) and, within a multidisciplinary team, provide psychological and psychotherapeutic follow-up for adolescents admitted to La Clairière.
This position grants access to postgraduate training in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy from the OMP and to all services provided within this training framework.
The Penitentiary Medicine Service also offers active support in research and teaching.
Job description
In line with your training path to obtain your title in psychiatry and psychotherapy, you will join a care unit of the department and provide outpatient psychiatric and psychotherapeutic follow-up for adolescents at La Clairière within a multidisciplinary team.
Alongside your activity, you will benefit from a high-quality, clinical, and structured postgraduate training according to FMH requirements for obtaining the specialist title in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy.
You may also participate in ongoing research activities within the services. Support is also available for undertaking a doctoral thesis.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
Previous experience in psychiatry and/or somatic medicine is an asset.
For non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
