About the job
Our production is the heart of artimelt – here, sophisticated speciality adhesives are created on various mixing systems for customers and applications worldwide. Good production requires functioning technology and stable processes. Above all, it needs people who take responsibility together. As Head of Production, you lead an experienced team, provide guidance, promote collaboration, further develop our production with a balanced approach, and actively shape the future of artimelt as a member of the management team.
Who we are
artimelt is an independent Swiss SME based in Sursee. We develop and produce speciality hotmelt adhesives for demanding applications – including medical, tapes, labels, and industrial speciality applications. Our customers are international, and our development and production are based in Central Switzerland.
What this role is about
• You bear overall responsibility for our production in a 3-shift operation and, together with your team, ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient production operation.
• You lead and develop the shift supervisors as well as the employees in production planning, maintenance, and projects. In doing so, you create clarity and commitment, promote personal responsibility, and strengthen collaboration across shifts and functions.
• You stay close to production and the people: you listen, make decisions, and ensure that challenges become solutions.
• You ensure high-performance production equipment and further develop our production through technical improvements, sensible investments, and modernisation projects.
• You work closely with development, supply chain, and quality management and, together with your team, ensure that our high standards for quality, occupational safety, and a regulated production environment are met. As a member of the management team, you think beyond production and share responsibility for the development of artimelt.
What you can achieve with us
• Develop a team: You take over an experienced production team with a wealth of know-how. Together with your leaders, you strengthen collaboration, personal responsibility, and a positive leadership culture, fostering strong cooperation across all shifts.
• Lead our ERP implementation to success: We are currently introducing a new ERP system with Microsoft Business Central. You will join during the testing and implementation phase, bring the production perspective, and ensure together with your team that the new system works and is embraced in daily production.
• Keep our production fit for the future: Our equipment and processes are established and efficient. At the same time, there is room for technical advancement, automation, and modernisation. You identify meaningful potentials and bring the right projects to implementation.
What you bring
• You can lead people. You provide guidance, set clear expectations, and make decisions. At the same time, you listen, incorporate different perspectives, value existing experience, and win people over to common goals.
• You have hands-on experience in industrial production and have already taken on leadership responsibility in a manufacturing company. Balancing quality, deadlines, equipment availability, and efficiency is part of your daily production routine.
• You have a technical background, ideally a degree at FH/university level, for example in process engineering, chemistry, plastics technology, mechanical engineering, or a comparable field. What matters to us is your technical understanding – not the exact title of your degree.
• You think in processes and contexts and are familiar with a quality-oriented or regulated production environment. Experience from chemistry, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, food, or comparable industries is welcome.
• You are pragmatic, curious, and solution-oriented. You analyse carefully but do not get lost in problems, are open to change, and advance topics together with others.
• You see yourself as a team player – also at leadership level. You represent your area with conviction and simultaneously seek the best solution for the entire company. You communicate confidently in German and English.
Why artimelt?
• Because you can really make a difference with us. As a member of our management team, you are close to decisions and have direct influence on your area and our company.
• Because we are an SME by conviction. We work with short paths, direct exchange, and little hierarchy. Decisions are made where the knowledge is – and good ideas do not need several approval levels with us.
• Because you can develop further on a good foundation. Our processes are stable and our perspective long-term – at the same time, we are small and agile enough to actually be able to change things.
