Project Engineer Structural Design Building Construction
About the Position
As a project engineer in structural design, you independently as well as in a team develop sustainable structural concepts and accompany demanding building construction projects through various planning phases.
Your Tasks
- Calculate structures: You independently create static calculations and verifications for complex building and industrial constructions (e.g. logistics centres, data centres).
- Develop concepts: You sketch and design load-bearing, economical, and sustainable structural solutions (e.g. focusing on recycled concrete and CO₂ reduction).
- Collaborate interdisciplinarily: You coordinate closely with architects, building services, and electrical planners within the shared BIM model.
- Support projects: You participate in internal project team meetings and represent your specialist area in technical coordination.
- Inspect on site: You conduct regular site inspections and reinforcement approvals (approx. once a week).
Must-Haves
- Education: Completed studies in civil engineering or a comparable technical degree (ETH, FH, University).
- Initial experience: First practical experience in structural design/building construction (e.g. through relevant internships, working student positions, or early professional years).
- Language skills: Fluent German skills in spoken and written form (at least level B2/C1) to precisely draft reports and usage agreements.
- Working style: High personal responsibility, conscientiousness, and enjoyment of close collaboration in an interdisciplinary team.
Nice-to-haves
- First professional experience as a project engineer or structural designer.
- Knowledge of Swiss SIA standards (training/retraining from Eurocode is easily possible).
- Good English skills in spoken and written form.
