The government of the canton of Graubünden is seeking, as of 1 April 2027, a Member of the Bank Council of the Graubünden Cantonal Bank
Your area of responsibility
As a member of the seven-person Bank Council, the highest body of the GKB, you are entrusted with the strategic management of the bank. You will assume the following tasks in particular:
- Defining the principles of the business strategy and the framework for business activities
- Approving the risk policy as well as monitoring risk management and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Electing and supervising the executive management as well as the head of internal audit and the Chief Risk Officer
- Responsibility for salary and personnel policy
- Controlling and approving the annual financial statements, budget, and profit distribution
- Other tasks according to federal law and the law governing the GKB
It is intended that you will sit on the Audit and Risk Committee of the Bank Council.
What we expect from you
You have solid economic and financial expertise with a focus on banking and corresponding experience. A broad understanding of banking operational contexts along the value chain as well as in-depth knowledge of key control and risk aspects are expected. Additionally, experience in the strategic development of financial institutions and dealing with relevant market and competitive dynamics is required.

- Analytical skills and entrepreneurial thinking
- Teamwork skills and enjoyment of a trusting collaboration within the board
- Identification with the corporate culture, ownership goals, and strategic objectives of the GKB
- Good knowledge of the political, economic, and social conditions in the canton of Graubünden is an advantage
- Sufficient availability in terms of time
