YOUR FUTURE TASK
Monthly and Annual Financial Statements: You are responsible for preparing and reviewing monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB (IFRS knowledge is an advantage but not a disqualifying criterion) for the companies you manage.
General Ledger Accounting: You independently manage the general ledger accounting, including the reconciliation of intercompany transactions and ensuring correct account management.
Accounting Standards: You ensure compliance with national (HGB) accounting standards as well as internal group policies and processes.
Tax Obligations: You prepare and review VAT returns or summary reports (ZM) and work closely with tax consultants.
Reporting and Analyses: You prepare regular financial reports, analyse variances, and support the preparation of ad-hoc evaluations for management and external parties.
Provisions and Accruals: You manage and assess provisions, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet items.
Process Optimisation: You identify optimisation potentials in accounting and contribute to the digitalisation and automation of processes.
Interface Function: You work closely with controlling, payroll accounting, treasury, and other departments and act as a contact person for accounting-related queries.
Audit Preparation: You prepare documents for internal and external audits (e.g. by auditors) and accompany these.
YOU AS A PERSON AND WHAT YOU BRING
Education: Successfully completed commercial training, ideally with further training as a Certified Accountant (IHK) or a comparable qualification (e.g. Bachelor/Master in Business Administration with a focus on accounting).
Professional Experience: Several years of professional experience in accounting or financial reporting, preferably in an international corporation or an auditing firm.
Technical Knowledge: - Profound knowledge of HGB:
Experience with consolidation processes and intercompany reconciliations is an advantage.
Knowledge of VAT (national and international) as well as tax law.
IT Skills:
Very good user skills in MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP R3, ideally SAP HANA.
Knowledge of reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, LucaNet) is a plus.
Languages: Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken.
