About the job
Secretary at the Regional Court of Littoral and Val-de-Travers
- AUTJ150
- The District Court is the cantonal judicial authority of first instance responsible for civil and criminal justice. It operates independently, diligently, and rigorously. It is spread over three sites and consists of the following sections: conciliation chamber, civil court, child and adult protection authority (APEA), juvenile criminal court, police court, criminal court, and coercive measures court.
The Regional Court of Littoral and Val-de-Travers is recruiting a 100% secretary position, mainly attached to the civil court and the juvenile criminal court.
As a secretary mainly attached to the Civil Court and the Juvenile Criminal Court of the Regional Court of Littoral and Val-de-Travers, you participate in the administrative management of files.
The Civil Court handles cases concerning relationships between individuals and businesses, particularly in family law, contracts, and civil liability. It rules on civil disputes and also intervenes in non-contentious procedures requiring legal authorization or validation, especially in divorce proceedings. You are involved in handling files requiring rigorous monitoring of procedures and judicial decisions.
The Juvenile Criminal Court intervenes when a person aged between 10 and 18 commits an offense. It is the authority that investigates cases. It can impose measures or penalties adapted to the age and situation. It may also order the provisional detention of juveniles.
Within the Juvenile Criminal Court, you are required to take on on-call duties during weekends.
In your role, you are responsible for the constitution and administrative processing of judicial files. This includes drafting both correspondence and decisions, scheduling hearings, and assisting at them, particularly by taking minutes (dictated or on the fly). You also manage agendas and deadlines using computer systems. Additionally, you handle sending, enforcing, and archiving rendered decisions while acting as the primary contact person to welcome and inform litigants, lawyers, or other administrative services, whether at the counter or by phone.
Holder of a commercial employee certificate (CFC) or an equivalent qualification, you have prior relevant experience for the position, ideally in the judicial field or a law firm.
Recognized for your loyalty and discretion, you are strongly attached to public service values and possess a sense of responsibility. Excellent command of French, typing skills, and the Office suite are prerequisites for this position.
Autonomous and highly organized, you are proactive and know how to take initiatives within the scope of assigned competencies. You appreciate handling complex files requiring attention to detail. Moreover, you stand out for your extreme rigor and precision.
You are also able to quickly adapt to new environments and integrate into a team. Stress-resistant, you manage a large volume of tasks and respond to multiple requests by effectively prioritizing, respecting both urgency levels and deadlines.
This position also requires a clean criminal record and debt collection record.
