Your tasks
As a trained gardener EFZ, you are responsible together with the gardening team for the professional care and design of our extensive park areas as well as the greened animal enclosures. You independently carry out all gardening tasks and ensure that plants, green spaces and habitats for animals and visitors are always presented in a well-maintained and attractive condition.
Your varied tasks include, among others, the care of the entire park area, various indoor plantings and support in the tree care sector. The predominantly maintenance work is complemented by horticultural tasks, operation of our extensive pond system and advisory functions within the framework of small and large projects.
Another part of your work is the procurement and preparation of animal feed. This includes the seasonal organisation and distribution of feed as well as its preparation and storage for the various animal species.
What you bring
You are a trained gardener in garden and landscape construction EFZ and have at least three years of professional experience in the care and design of green spaces. In addition, you hold a driving licence category B, preferably BE. You enjoy working on your own initiative, are practically minded and take pleasure in a varied outdoor activity.
A careful and professional way of working is as natural to you as a responsible approach to plants, machines and work materials. You are physically resilient, reliable and appreciate working both independently and in a team.
Sound experience in garden/park maintenance is of great importance for this role. We also welcome applicants who have an interest in the special plant world and the different requirements of the animal enclosures in a zoo.
You are familiar with the use of machines and equipment for professional garden and green space maintenance. Practical experience with domestic or wild animals is also welcome but not a prerequisite.
You have good German language skills in spoken and written form and are willing to adapt to new situations repeatedly in a varied environment. Team spirit, initiative and a high level of commitment complete your profile.
