The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) Canton Zurich fulfils important humanitarian tasks on site in the areas of everyday support, education and migration/social integration.
We are looking for a proactive, engaging and strategic thinker as of 1 January 2027 or by arrangement for the position of
Senior Fundraiser: Foundations and Major Donations (80-100%)
To ensure our services reach the people who need them, visibility, trust and sustainable financing are essential. With a high degree of freedom, professionalism and expertise, we secure the financial resources for our humanitarian commitment and aim to safeguard and expand it in the long term. As a Senior Fundraiser, you will play a central role in financing our programmes in the Canton of Zurich. You will maintain reliable relationships with foundations and major donors, develop funding partnerships further and, together with the specialist departments, ensure that our services are secured in the long term. In doing so, you will bring new impulses and support the further development of our fundraising activities.
Your impact with us
- You develop the fundraising strategy in the area of foundations further and bring new impulses for sustainable funding partnerships
- With tact and negotiation skills, you maintain existing relationships with funding foundations and win new supporters for our projects and services
- In close cooperation with the programme managers, you write funding applications and accompany the process from submission to reporting
- You manage individual major donations from private individuals and create long-term bonds with our organisation
- With your expertise, you actively shape direct marketing measures for major donors and bring creative ideas for new approaches
- You take responsibility for the planning and implementation of fundraising events and ensure a professional appearance
- With clear budget management and cross-departmental collaboration, you make an important contribution to the overall impact of fundraising, marketing and communication
What convinces us
- Education at university of applied sciences level or equivalent, relevant further training is an advantage
- At least 5 years of experience in relationship marketing in the NPO environment or private sector with a focus on customer retention and key account management
- Additional qualification in fundraising (e.g. CAS Fundraising Management, CAS Fundraising Strategies) is an advantage
- Linguistic fluency and excellent written German skills
- You proactively approach people and bring projects to a successful conclusion with initiative and determination
- An authentic, inspiring personality who builds trust and actively and sustainably maintains relationships
- Strong intrinsic motivation for the humanitarian Red Cross values and identification with our locally active aid organisation
