About the job

The National Competence Centre for Ageing without Violence is committed to the prevention of violence, abuse or discrimination against older people in Switzerland. It is supported by the three major regional language actors (alter ego / Pro Senectute Ticino e Moesano and the Independent Complaints Office for Ageing UBA). It informs, raises awareness, networks professional organisations and ensures advice and support for those affected through specialised contact points.

The National Competence Centre operates an office with administrative support.

We are looking for a

Managing Director (60%) from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement

Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that older people receive support in difficult life situations by securing the connection to contact points for those affected, raising awareness of the issue throughout Switzerland, and further developing and expanding the coordination and networking of relevant professional organisations, institutions and actors.

As Managing Director, you take on the operational management of the organisation, develop the competence centre further, and strengthen the organisation’s presence and impact through public relations and communication. You are responsible for finances and maintain close contact with the organisation’s sponsors and funders. You are responsible for the internal coordination of the regional language contact points and lead the administrative staff member.

We are looking for a committed and well-networked individual with a sense of social concerns.

You bring a business management background and experience in leading a non-profit organisation. Professional experience in the field of ageing is an advantage, as is experience in communication/marketing. You are proficient in digital communication (newsletters, social media). You enjoy working independently and, in exchange with the board, take pleasure in strategic work. You are articulate: bilingual (German/French) or with very good knowledge of the other language and gladly take on the challenge of trilingual communication (German/French/Italian).
