About the job

The Hotel & Gastro Union organises employees and professionals from the gastronomy, hotel industry as well as the bakery and confectionery sectors in a joint professional organisation.

For the independent management and further development of two each of our professional associations, we are looking for an entrepreneurial-minded individual with solid industry experience from 1 February 2027 or by arrangement. You will lead both associations with their respective professional profiles and members, combining member orientation, professional responsibility, and shared potential.

Association Manager 100% (m/f/d)

You will take over two of the following professional associations

• Professional Association Service · Catering
• Professional Association Hotel Industry & Housekeeping
• Professional Association Hotel · Administration & Management
• Professional Association Bakery & Confectionery

What you will achieve

• You will lead and develop your two professional associations operationally, strategically and economically, be responsible for budget and resources, and implement the defined goals and resolutions together with the presidiums and boards. In doing so, you identify risks early and create transparent decision-making bases
• You develop and implement measures for sustainable member acquisition, retention and activation, and design offers with clear member benefits
• You represent your professional associations in educational, professional and industry organisations, shape professional, vocational training and professional policy topics, and maintain important relationships with members, schools, multipliers and partners – thereby strengthening the visibility and positioning of both professional associations
• You plan and manage events, competitions and projects and work closely with the responsible specialist departments on larger or cross-association initiatives
• You promote cooperation between your two professional associations, utilise synergies with other professional associations and the central specialist departments of the Hotel & Gastro Union, while preserving the independent professional profiles, member needs and committees

Why you will succeed

• With a higher vocational qualification, a university of applied sciences or university degree, or a comparable qualification, ideally with a business administration focus
• Several years of practical industry experience; you know the needs of professionals and the challenges of the industry from your own experience and ideally have an industry network
• Experience in management and independent control of projects or business areas
• Experience in working with boards, militia bodies and various stakeholders or the willingness to quickly familiarise yourself with this environment
• Interest in vocational training, industry development and advocacy as well as a confident manner, negotiation skills and strong member orientation
• Very good German skills and good French skills for collaboration with members and partners in different language regions
