Since 1887, Stadtmühle Schenk AG in Ostermundigen near Bern has been processing grain into quality flour. Over the years, the range has been expanded to include baking mixes, muesli mixes, and breadcrumbs. Thanks to the configuration of the facilities, Stadtmühle Schenk can also produce and package various flour blends according to customer requests. Today, Stadtmühle Schenk is one of the most modern mills in Switzerland and, with around 50 employees, is among the three largest providers on the market. With its broad range, Stadtmühle Schenk AG supplies commercial bakeries, retailers, the hospitality industry, and the food industry. Since 2020, the company has been part of the long-term portfolio of Kowema AG, which offers pension funds in Switzerland a unique investment opportunity in unlisted Swiss SMEs. 

Chief Financial Officer (m/f/d)

Your Mission

The CFO is a co-pilot member of the management team of Stadtmühle Schenk AG and reports directly to the CEO. In this role, they are responsible for finance and accounting, controlling, personnel administration, and IT. The CFO works closely with the CEO of Stadtmühle Schenk AG and takes on an active sparring partner role in financial, operational, and strategic matters. At the same time, they form an important interface to Kowema AG as the owner and ensure its target-group-appropriate financial reporting.

Your Talents

• Several years of leadership experience in the finance sector of a manufacturing company.
• Proven experience in finance and accounting, controlling, and corporate management.
• High level of finalisation certainty and sound knowledge of Swiss accounting standards.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, and financial planning.
• Advanced knowledge as a user of standard applications (ERP/Office).
• Knowledge in human resources, especially in labour law.
• Basic knowledge in IT hardware and system administration.
• Higher business education (FH/university) with a focus on finance, accounting, or controlling. Further training at CFO level, certified expert in accounting and controlling, auditor, or equivalent is desirable.
• Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking as well as a pronounced understanding of the overall context of the company.
• High analytical skills and strong affinity for numbers.
• Assertiveness and decision-making competence as well as willingness to take responsibility.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately and on equal footing at all hierarchical levels.
• High initiative, hands-on mentality, and strong sense of responsibility.
