What is it about?
Which activities/orders are insured?
KnowS IT GmbH (KnowS) has concluded a collective insurance contract with Zurich regarding order-related liability insurance for KnowS providers. Integrated parts of the aforementioned contract are the General Insurance Conditions (GIC) for the "Zurich Commercial Liability Insurance for KnowS Providers" as well as the "Overview of the Insured Activities of KnowS Providers".
Insured are orders processed via the KnowS platform that are insurable according to the "Overview of the Insured Activities of KnowS Providers". The insurability of activities not clearly listed as "insured activities" in the overview must be requested from KnowS.
When does the insurance start and end?
The insurance begins with the booking of the order on the KnowS platform and ends with the fulfilment of the order.
Who is insured?
Insured are providers with (residential) headquarters in Switzerland who process orders for customers via the KnowS platform. If it is an insurable activity, you are automatically insured against liability claims for your order according to the GIC for the "Zurich Commercial Liability Insurance for KnowS Providers".

How high is the deductible?
Insured is the liability of the insured persons based on domestic and foreign legal provisions for the insured activities arising from operational, product (insured only as a secondary risk), and environmental risks for personal and property damage as well as damage prevention costs according to the applicable GIC for the "Zurich Commercial Liability Insurance for KnowS Providers".
The deductible amounts to:
- 1,000 Swiss Francs per claim event for Extended Custody and Processing Damages
- 200 Swiss Francs per claim event for all other damages
How do I report a claim?
A claim must be reported via the KnowS platform under the insurance protection section.
KnowS forwards the information to Zurich.
How high is the sum insured?
The sum insured is a maximum of 100,000 Swiss Francs per order. For product risks under the collective insurance contract, a maximum sum insured of 10,000,000 Swiss Francs per insurance year applies for all claim events combined.
Within the above-mentioned sum insured, a sublimit of 10,000 Swiss Francs per order applies for coverages such as loss of entrusted keys or extended custody and processing damages (direct processing damages).
