Vacancy as Sacristan

Interested in a versatile, interesting, and responsible role in our parish St. Jakobus the Elder Eschenbach in the pastoral area Oberseetal?

We are looking for a sacristan deputy on an hourly wage basis (approx. 10% workload) starting January 1, 2026, or by arrangement.

Your tasks

You will take over the duties of the sacristan one day a week and one weekend per month, on holidays, and during the main sacristan's vacation.

Preparing the church space and everything needed for the services

Opening and closing the parish church

Proper storage and care of liturgical garments and equipment

Cleaning the parish church, restroom facilities, and public areas in the parish house (optional)

Operation and maintenance of technical systems

What you bring

Interest in parish life, connection to the Catholic Church, and understanding of the various forms of worship

Independent, reliable work with irregular working hours; willingness to work on weekends and holidays

Mental and physical agility

Good manners and a hospitable attitude

Training as a sacristan or willingness to complete the sacristan course
