With nearly 1,400 employees, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics is a medical centre focused on the elderly and is composed of 6 services spread across 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency department of the Trois-Chêne hospital, age-related specific issues, medical rehabilitation and palliative care.
Located in the heart of a park on the Belle-Idée estate, the Trois-Chêne Hospital welcomes people whose health condition requires hospitalisation for geriatric care or rehabilitation treatments. The hospital has a state-of-the-art radiology unit, intermediate care, as well as an emergency service that can accommodate patients aged 75 and over, excluding life-threatening emergencies.
Job Description
Thanks to your interpersonal skills and proactivity, you ensure the smooth running and daily operations of the medical secretariat on site.
You manage telephone calls for the secretariat and reception. You support the doctors in the department by organising their appointments and communications with the attending physicians. You will be primarily assigned to the Trois-Chêne hospital site, with regular cover on other sites of the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics.
While responding to various requests, you independently carry out administrative tasks related to your role such as taking notes during interdisciplinary meetings, typing documents as instructed related to patient file follow-up and movements, as well as managing correspondence.
Within the team, you develop close relationships with your fellow secretaries and ensure continuity of service during absences. More generally, your service-oriented attitude makes you a flexible person, ready to apply your versatility to serve the institution by working in different departments as needed.
Qualifications
You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a commercial employee and/or a diploma as a medical secretary, or any equivalent qualification deemed appropriate.
You have 1-2 years of successful experience in a similar position within a medical secretariat.
You have excellent command of French, both spoken and written, and proven writing skills. Medical terminology is easily understandable to you. Knowledge of English is an asset.
You have very good computer skills (basic ECDL level on Word required) as well as familiarity with software used at HUG (DPA, DPI, OPALE, Winscribe).
You possess a good team spirit and the ability to work in a shared office with several secretaries.
While having a good sense of organisation and priorities, you are autonomous, rigorous and precise in the tasks entrusted to you.
You also have the tools to handle unforeseen events and manage stressful situations with ease.
Finally, you demonstrate a strong sense of confidentiality.
