Train Dispatcher / Controller Aarau Train Control Centre (m/f/d) 50-80%

The Train Control Centre – the heart of safe and punctual rail traffic.

To strengthen our team at the Train Control Centre, we are looking for a responsible individual for the location Aarau from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement as a Train Dispatcher / Controller.

 

Your tasks

• You manage and monitor train traffic as well as shunting movements on the WSB network (lines S14 Aarau-Schöftland and Aarau-Menziken)
• You organise and schedule train traffic in compliance with applicable regulations and rules
• In case of disruptions or incidents, you initiate the necessary measures and ensure the maintenance of rail or replacement services
• You plan and schedule the deployment of traction vehicles and, in case of short-term absences, personnel deployment
• You prepare and communicate operational instructions to locomotive staff and other stakeholders
• You ensure timely and comprehensive customer information, especially during operational disruptions
• You coordinate the flow of information within the operation and work closely with various internal departments

Your profile

• You have training as a rail operations dispatcher, train dispatcher / train traffic controller category B or are willing to undertake this intensive six-month additional training
• You hold a qualification from at least a three-year, federally recognised vocational training (EFZ) or a school-leaving certificate (Matura)
• You gladly take on responsibility and ensure the safety of rail traffic and our passengers through your decisions and actions
• You remain calm in hectic situations and prioritise tasks quickly and correctly
