ICT Trainer 80 - 100%The Office for Information Technology (AFI) is the IT competence centre of the Canton of Zurich.
It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide applications for directorates, authorities, the judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the office accompanies the canton into the digital world.
With us, young ICT talents not only learn theory but also work in the midst of a versatile IT environment. To help them grow professionally, find their place, and be well prepared for the professional world, it takes people who combine training with heart, structure, and ICT understanding. This is exactly where you come in. You take on a central role in our ICT basic training, currently accompany 11 apprentices through their training, and further develop a modern, practice-oriented learning environment together with the practical trainers.
Your tasks:
- Coordination and further development of ICT basic training at AFI, focusing on well-coordinated and practice-oriented training
- Planning of training processes, internships, and practical assignments in coordination with the curriculum, learning objectives, and operational possibilities
- Professional, methodological, and personal support of apprentices throughout the entire apprenticeship, including promotion, educational reports, probationary period, and evaluation discussions
- Close cooperation with AFI practical trainers, the personnel office, vocational schools, as well as other internal and external bodies
- Further development of the basic training concept, training tools, modern learning formats, and the AFI apprentice organisation
- Establishment and further development of the apprentice lab, including infrastructure, budget, training offerings, and preparation for practical exams
- Participation in recruitment, selection, and trial apprenticeships in cooperation with the personnel office as well as onboarding and induction programmes for new apprentices
- Ensuring training quality as well as compliance with cantonal, legal, and internal requirements
- Reliable contact person for questions, uncertainties, or conflicts in everyday training
Your profile:
- Completed ICT vocational training EFZ, ideally supplemented by higher education (FA, HF or equivalent)
- Several years of professional experience in the IT environment, preferably related to system technology
- Experience in supporting and promoting apprentices as well as pedagogical-didactic skills in conveying ICT topics
- Enjoyment in working with young people and a good sense for different personalities, developmental stages, and situations
- High social and communication competence, combined with clarity, reliability, and sensitivity
- Structured, reliable, and well-organised working style, even when handling several topics simultaneously
- Interest in modern, practice-oriented vocational training as well as in the further development of learning formats and training tools
- Willingness to continuously further educate yourself in the field of vocational training and ICT
