Job Description
Job Objective
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the transport logistics service to achieve operational objectives according to the daily schedule, in strict compliance with HSEQ rules.
- Ensure internal movements and transports according to the needs of the Monthey site, and notify the line in case of emergency or malfunction.
Responsibilities
Transport Operations & Driving:
- Drive various vehicles during the same day (rigid trucks and semis, forklifts, buses, mobile cranes, container carriers, and tipper trucks).
- Handle loading and transport of goods from point A to point B (securing, managing fragility, storage) and rigorously report information in IT tools.
- Check vehicle condition at the start of service and help maintain infrastructure and equipment clean and in good working order.
Safety & HSEQ:
- Carry out all activities in compliance with safety instructions specific to a chemical industrial site, service regulations, and road safety rules.
- Ensure handling and transport of goods (including dangerous goods - ADR) according to sector directives, OACP training, and SafeStart values.
- Report any incidents or anomalies observed and actively propose improvement solutions within their area of expertise.
Collaboration & Flexibility:
- Work closely with other site departments and show courtesy and respect towards all users (pedestrians, other vehicles).
- Demonstrate great versatility and adapt work according to volume fluctuations, schedule changes, and weather conditions (rain, snow, ice, heatwave, darkness).
- Actively participate in daily team meetings (Tier) and communicate effectively with the dispatcher.
Qualifications
Required
Training & Certifications:
- CE heavy goods vehicle licence required.
- Federal VET diploma in a technical field or equivalent (ideally a VET diploma as a heavy vehicle driver).
- Up-to-date dangerous goods (ADR) and OACP training mandatory.
- Federal forklift licence (category R4 is an asset).
- Crane operator licence A (an asset).
Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the transport/logistics sector or on an industrial site.
- Strong knowledge of risks related to the use of logistics equipment and transport of dangerous goods.
Skills & Personal Qualities:
- Excellent physical condition and high resistance to varied weather conditions.
- High flexibility, quick adaptability to changes, and autonomy in organising the working day.
- Very good team spirit and service mindset (positive, willing, and helpful attitude).
- Comfortable with standard IT tools (Microsoft Office).
- Fluent in French.
