Are you fascinated by the combination of independent fieldwork, thorough investigations, and contact with a wide variety of people? Would you like to use your experience in property and liability insurance to find fair and sustainable solutions for our customers even in challenging situations?

In this role, you will handle complex claims in general liability – for example, business and private liability – as well as in various property insurance branches. You will accompany cases from the initial investigation to conclusion, assess coverage and liability, and conduct negotiations with all parties involved.

You will regularly be on the road in the Zurich region, inspecting loss sites and clarifying matters directly on site. With your confident manner, negotiation skills, and understanding of the affected parties’ situations, you build trust – even when interests differ. At the same time, you make decisions independently and ensure careful and efficient claims processing.

What you do

• You independently handle complex claims in property and general liability insurance – from claim notification to settlement.
• You clarify matters with policyholders, claimants, experts, lawyers, and insurance companies and inspect loss sites in the Zurich region.
• You assess insurance coverage, liability, and claim extent, document your investigations comprehensibly, and make decisions within your authority.
• You conduct negotiations with all involved parties, coordinate necessary measures, and arrange claim payments.
• You examine recourse possibilities, collaborate with internal specialist departments and external partners, and ensure clear, timely communication.

What you bring

• You have training in insurance; a professional insurance certificate or a degree from a higher technical school for insurance is an advantage.
• You have at least five years of professional experience in claims handling, ideally in property and/or general liability insurance.
• You bring sound knowledge in coverage and liability assessment as well as experience dealing with complex claims.
• You negotiate confidently, present yourself convincingly even in demanding situations, and find pragmatic and customer-oriented solutions.
• You work independently, structured, and reliably, communicate very well in German, and have good MS Office skills; additional language skills are an advantage.
