As an Input Engineer specialising in Java in the document management sector, you are responsible for the smooth, efficient and secure digitisation as well as processing and integration of documents into our system landscape. You apply your Java expertise and your flair for system and application integration to specifically further develop our input and document processes. In close collaboration with IT, business units and external partners, you develop Java-based solutions that accelerate the entire document lifecycle, improve quality and reduce manual effort.
Your tasks
- Planning, developing, installing, configuring and maintaining input and document management solutions (including Kodak Capture Pro and DocProStar/OCTO) with a focus on Java-based extension and integration
- Developing and integrating Java components, services and interfaces to connect document management applications to the existing system landscape (REST/SOAP web services, APIs, messaging)
- Analysing and resolving technical issues in the input and processing paths as well as supporting troubleshooting in surrounding systems (debugging, log analysis, performance tuning of Java services)
- Designing and implementing automation and self-service solutions in Java (e.g. for document import, classification, routing) to accelerate the end-to-end process chain
- Further developing and maintaining Java-based components and microservices in the document management and system integration environment
- Collaborating in an agile team together with business units, IT and external partners to develop integrated Java solutions that optimally support customer needs
- Ensuring ongoing operations including monitoring input paths as well as handling certificates, licences and technical accesses, including technical support of Java applications (monitoring, logging, deployment)
Your profile
- Completed education and/or training in computer science, business informatics or a comparable qualification
- Relevant experience in the integration of applications and systems (interfaces, web services, APIs), ideally in the document management environment
- Good knowledge of Java (e.g. Java SE/EE, Spring/Spring Boot or comparable frameworks)
- Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (e.g. Linux shell; Python advantageous) as well as familiarity with DevOps principles and agile development methods
- Initial experience with automating build and deployment processes (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD or similar tools) as well as basic knowledge of cloud and containerisation (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous
- You convince with strong analytical skills and a structured, solution-oriented working style
- You score with your enjoyment of teamwork and your clear, audience-appropriate communication
- Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written
