About the job
To strengthen our technical service, we are looking for a Waste Management Officer. You will be responsible for the operational, administrative and technical management of the Courtepin and Villarepos waste disposal sites. You will ensure the proper functioning of the facilities, compliance with legal and environmental regulations, the quality of service offered to the public, as well as the supervision of staff assigned to the two sites.
Your main duties
- Ensure the daily proper functioning of the Courtepin and Villarepos sites, monitor them during opening hours and maintain the facilities in good condition.
- Provide a professional, courteous and efficient welcome, inform users and advise them on sorting, deposit procedures and appropriate channels.
- Enforce the municipal regulations and legal requirements, control deposits and refuse non-compliant, prohibited or unauthorised waste.
- Monitor the filling of skips and containers, organise removals and rotations, and ensure the availability of the various collection channels.
- Ensure cleanliness, order and safety of the sites, carry out or coordinate routine maintenance and promptly report any breakdowns, damage or hazardous situations.
- Administrative and financial follow-up (invoice tracking, statistics, tonnages, reports and indicators, etc.), contribute to budget preparation and ensure cost control.
- Organise and plan staff, set schedules and attendance, arrange replacements, allocate tasks and guarantee adequate coverage of the two waste disposal sites.
- Integrate, train and support colleagues, develop their versatility, foster a constructive working atmosphere and manage any conflicts.
- Be responsible for safety rules, protection of people and the environment, propose improvements aimed at optimising sorting quality and services.
- Collaborate with municipal services, participate in projects related to waste, environment and infrastructure, support certain events and represent the Municipality with partners and suppliers.
- Work with the road maintenance service for all tasks related to municipal assets and infrastructure.
Your profile
- Technical or environmental training, or equivalent experience
- Experience in team management and operation of technical or public service facilities
- Flexibility in working hours (including evenings and Saturdays, and depending on seasonal tasks)
- Knowledge of regulations and legal requirements regarding waste management, safety and environmental protection
- Ability to perform simple maintenance work on facilities.
- Proficiency with common computer toolsAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions and good physical condition
- Mandatory wearing of personal protective equipment in accordance with current regulations.
- Native French or German speaker with good knowledge of the other language
- Team spirit and initiative, dynamic, organised and prioritising, versatile
- Category B driving licence
